Top British food vlogger 'stunned' by Irish takeaways as he gushes over Mad Egg, Bunsen and Leo Burdock

One of Britain's best known food vloggers took a trip across the Irish Sea for a couple of reviews - and was stunned by what he saw.

Rate My Takeaway is a hugely popular YouTube channel with over 360,000 subscribers and even more followers across social media.

What they do is send one of their staff, Danny, around the country and continent to try local businesses.

The group sell themselves as: "What first started as a small Facebook Group has now become your way of skipping the menus and to find out what's new in your area."

Oh, and Danny always brings his own table.

For his trip in Ireland, Danny put the call out for three of Dublin's best restaurants for him to try.

Mad Egg

He went with a stacked chicken burger, with tenders, 'Mac Bombs - smoked Applewood Mac wrapped in panko and fried, and then to top it off, the famous Mad Egg DIY cheesecake.

Safe to say, he was overwhelmed with the amount of choice, telling the fans on a number of occasions that his eyes were bigger than his belly.

But he plowed on - and landed himself in food heaven, particularly with the tenders.

He even had the following to say about the Mac Bombs: "If you come here, and don't try this, you're a lunatic."

All that resulted in Mad Egg getting a perfect 10.

Bunsen

Danny made his way to Bunsen next, where many people say Ireland's best burger resides.

Although thinking the menu at first wasn't "nothing special", Danny's double cheeseburger with shoestring fries and a vanilla milkshake, all of which he said was cooked to perfection (even without pickles).

He gave the burger joint a 9 before moving on to an Irish institution.

Leo Burdock

Anyone who has seen the channel and Danny knows that he thinks nothing can beat fish and chips, so he had to get to Dublin's oldest chipper to have a bite.

The fresh cod, chips, onions rings and three sauces were delivered in a brown paper bag, as they usually are, but it was something which surprised the foodie, who said it looked like something you'd get in a supermarket.

Nevertheless, the "dodgy-looking" cod turned out to be a spectacular choice, with Burdock picking up a perfect 10 as well.

The clips have already been viewed over a million times since being uploaded.
