Top Bristol restaurant Sonny Stores to give away year's supply of free pizza

A top Bristol restaurant is celebrating its first birthday by giving away free pizza for the next year.

Italian-inspired Sonny Stores in Southville started as a lockdown delivery-only pizza business in 2020, run from the owners’ home.

The business was started by Mary Glynn and her chef husband, Pegs Quinn, who had previously worked in London’s famous River Cafe restaurant.

Since the couple opened their first permanent site in Raleigh Road, Sonny Stores has become one of the city’s most popular new restaurants and diners have to book tables far in advance.

As well as strong local support, the small neighbourhood eatery has attracted rave reviews from national restaurant critics including Jay Rayner and Tom Parker Bowles.

To mark its first birthday, Sonny Stores has decided to run a competition and the prize is a year’s supply of free pizza for one lucky person.

The winner will be entitled to a free pizza every month from now until next September.

With the Sonny Stores’ seasonal menu changing daily, that means the winner could probably eat a different type of pizza each month.

The pizzas can either be eaten in the restaurant or takeaway - they don’t do deliveries.

Mary Glynn said: “To celebrate our first birthday, we wanted to do something fun.

“From the start, our restaurant has received immense energy and loyalty from our customers, so it seems only right to involve them in these milestones. Plus, everyone loves a free pizza!”

To enter the competition, all you have to do is like the post on Sonny Stores Instagram account (@sonnystores), tag the friend you’re prepared to share that pizza with, and share it in your stories.

The winner will be chosen on Thursday (September 30).
