The Pittsburgh Steelers roster in 2020 is going to look very different than the one which failed to make the playoffs in 2019. Free agents will leave and be replaced with cheaper options. Salary cap casualties will be replaced by young guys and the Steelers will get some guys back who were injured in 2019.
Here are the three Steelers due for a big bounceback in 2020.
DL Stephon Tuitt
The forgotten man from last season is Tuitt. He was off to a great start before an injury sent him to the IR and cost him the last 10 games of the year. It was easy to not give Tuitt much thought since the defense stepped up and played so well in his absence. But with Javon Hargrave likely to leave via free agency, Tuitt’s presence will be vital to this team’s success in 2020.
RB James Conner

Pittsburgh’s run game was miserable in 2019. As a team, they were No. 29 in rushing yards in part because Conner missed six games with an injury. After making the Pro Bowl in 2018, Conner only mustered 464 rushing yards last season. While we are hopeful he is back to 100 percent for the start of the season, it is hard to get too optimistic about his future given his injury history.
QB Ben Roethlisberger

If we were raking these three guys, Roethlisberger wins in a landslide as the most important bounceback player on the Steelers. Roethlisberger went down with an elbow injury in the second game of the season and this ultimately doomed the team. But we shouldn’t act like Roethlisberger was off to a fast start prior to the injury. So his comeback is just as much about getting back to his 2018 form as it is about him being 100 percent.
