Top 3 Dublin Covid-19 red zones confirmed with north Dublin highly infected

The latest coronavirus 14-day incidence rate for Dublin and the rest of the country has been revealed on Ireland's Covid-19 Data Hub.

The number of cases reported over the last couple of weeks has started to decline as the effects of the vaccine program are being felt.

Yesterday, another 1,413 cases of Covid 19 were reported with 290 patients in hospital, of which 67 are in ICU.

The current national incidence rate of Covid 19 stands at 395.2 cases per 100,000 population. Dublin currently has the 10th highest 14-day incidence rate in the country.

The areas of Dublin with the highest incidence rates are:

Blanchardstown/Mulhuddart has the highest rate of disease in Dublin with the incidence rate standing at 708.1 per 100,000 population.

There are 250 confirmed cases in the LEA.

The area with the second-highest incidence of in the capital is Tallaght South, with a 14-day rate of 626 per 100,000 population.

There are 222 confirmed cases in the LEA.

The LEA with the third-highest rate of Covid-19 is Palmertown/Fonthill with a rate of 617.9 per 100,000 population.

There are currently 235 cases of the virus in the area.
