Emoni Bates, the nation’s top prospect for the 2022 recruiting class, has been spending a lot of time with Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans. That continues tonight as Bates will reportedly be attending the Midnight Madness event this evening, according to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.
The Yspilanti product is favored to go to Michigan State.. if he goes to college. There has been much conversation around the NBA removing the one-and-done rule and allowing players to enter the league straight from high school, in which case Bates would be almost guaranteed to be a number one pick in that year’s draft, considering he has been consistently compared to players like Kevin Durant, even at a young age.
