Top 12 worst lockdown haircuts as people take scissors to own hair during pandemic

These hilarious pictures show some of the worst lockdown haircuts.

Many people have taken the plunge and decided to cut their own locks after hairdressers were shuttered during the pandemic.

Lots of men have attempted the popular skin fade look and quickly found out just how hard it is to pull off.

It takes years for barbers to perfect the haircut - as many Brits have now come to appreciate.

Women have also tried simple cuts with shavers and scissors, although they have often been left with uneven hair.

As many Brits come to realise that cutting hair is far harder than they first imagined, barbers are being flooded with requests for illegal lockdown trims.

Oz Gokhan said he is "fed up" with would-be customers for requesting he opens up the back room of his shop in Taunton, Somerset or visit them at home.

Hairdressers have been shut since January 5 under  coronavirus  rules, with a provisional date of April 12 being earmarked for the earliest possible reopening.

Mr Gokhan, who runs Marmaris Turkish Barbers, told  Somerset Live  about his frustrations with people messaging him about a discreet trim.

He said: "I lost count of how many calls we had. People asking, can you do my hair, to which I'd reply that it doesn't work like that.

"I'm fed up, a black market haircut could cost me up to £10,000, so what's the point?"

However, shaggy-haired Brits will not have to wait much longer for a cut after the government announced hairdressers could reopen on April 12.

Social distancing and Covid safety rules will have to be in place before the salons are allowed to get cutting.

Boris Johnson, whose straw-like mop has grown out of control over lockdown, sparked laughter in the Commons when he announced the return of hairdressers.

Little Angus Henry, five, from Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland, was so concerned his hair resembled Mr Johnson's he decided to cut it off.

Mum Melanie Henry discovered he'd chopped off his blonde locks with a pair of children's scissors after she left him to play while she took a work call.

The schoolboy took matters into his own hands after friends and family pointed out his resemblance to the Prime Minister.

Melanie said: "I was on a work call when and when I came off he had cut his hair so all the fringe was gone.

"I just asked him what had happened and he said he did it because I'd said that the salons were shut and he didn't want to wait for a hair cut.

"I was just so shocked at what he'd done, he'd used a pair of the primary school scissors."

Many others have also tried their hand at cutting their own hair during the pandemic.

Lara, 22, was left with a triangle forehead after she tried to trim her fringe.

Meanwhile Harry, 23, opted for a bowl cut but quickly realised it had not gone as he hoped.

Writing in The Tab, he said: "I did myself a bowl cut back when I had bleach blonde hair and, as shabby as it looked, I kind of styled it out.

"This time, however, things are different, and it looks like I have a literal lid."

Tik Tok star 'insumii' also underwent a quarantine cut - and was clearly shocked with the results.

She covered her mouth with her hands as all of the hair on the side of her head was removed with a shaver.

Despite her surprise, she later posted a video confidently showing off the barnet.
