We all know that dogs are a man’s best friend, and last night Britain’s ‘top dog’ was revealed in a show dedicated to all things canine.
The ITV show Top 100 Dogs Live 2019 showcased the nation’s favourite pooches - with the public voting for their favourite breed.
The Sara Cox and Ben Fogle-fronted show featured an array of clever hounds - from a skateboarding French bulldog, to a horse riding Jack Russell - but in the end there could be only one winner.
With 217 registered breeds in the UK, there were plenty of doggie tales on the ITV show to delight any fan or owner.
A survey of 10,000 people was carried out to determine which is our favourite - and the results are in.
Below are the top 10 with photos, followed by a list of the rest.

1. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Staffies may have had a bad reputation in the past due to its tough-looking attributes, but dog lovers know that this couldn't be further from the truth. They're lovable, trustworthy and enjoy nothing more than a cuddle.
2. Cockapoo
Highly intelligent and easy to train, Cockapoos are one of the oldest "hybrid dog breeds", and it's not known whether the first mating of a cocker spaniel and poodle back in the fifties was an accident.
3. Labrador
Good natured and dependable, Labradors make wonderful family pets and have an affinity with children. Originally bred to retrieve nets for fishermen and then game and fowl for hunters, Labs excel at other activities such as working as guide and assistant dogs.
4. Springer spaniel
Well known for their long, shaggy ears and gentle nature, the springer spaniel is friendly and loving. They need lots of walks and exercise and although quite quiet, they make a good guard dog.
5. Cocker spaniel
Originally bred as a working gundog, the cocker spaniel is lively and playful and great around other animals including dogs. They love food (what dog doesn't?) and exploring around a park or countryside.
6. Boxer
Boxers are highly energetic dogs and have a fun loving outlook on life. They're also great watch dogs, making it a true all-rounder.
7. Border collie
This herding dog is the most intelligent bread and can understand up to 1,000 words.
8. German shepherd
German shepherds are not only highly intelligent, they are extremely loyal and make great watchdogs.
9. Golden retriever
Originally bred to retrieve "game", these dogs are often still seen in the field due to their working skills. They have wonderfully calm natures and are highly intelligent, making them a great family pet.
10. Mixed breed
Experts estimate that there are over 400,000 mixed breeds, mutts and mongrels.
