The Late Late show may be on it’s summer hiatus but there is still plenty of top telly to keep you entertained over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Here are our top picks.
FRIDAY
The Best of The Late Late Show
RTE One 9.35pm
If you simply have to have a Late Late fix of a Friday this highlights show should hit the spot. It features a selection of the usual mix of celebrity guests, music and in-depth interviews from the last series.
Celebrity Gogglebox
Channel 4 9pm
A brand new series of Celebrity Gogglebox kicks off with famous faces, including Tom Jones, Denise Van Outen, Gyles Brandreth and Maureen Lipman, giving their unfiltered opinions on last weeks telly including The Masked Dancer and Friends: The Reunion. We just want to know if they all fall in love with Joey like Ireland did after the reunion.

Breaking Boundaries: The Science Of Our Planet
Netflix
This documentary on the collapse of biodiversity around the globe hits the streaming service on Friday but of course, you can watch it at any point over the weekend. With David Attenborough narrating you know that this will be a must see.

Sweet Tooth
Netflix
Another new show hitting the streaming service on Friday is this comic book adaptation. This fantasy-drama is based on the DC Comic of the same name. In a post-apocalyptic world, children are being born as hybrids, half-animal and half-human. Gus, a half-deer and half-human leaves his forest sanctuary and joins a lone traveller to journey across America in search of answers to his past.
SATURDAY
The Masked Dancer Final
Virgin Media One/UTV/ITV 7.30pm
It’s been a weird and wonderful week on The Masked Dancer (did anyone guess Eddie the Eagle was the Chicken?) but the final is upon us tonight. Joel Dommett hosts as the four remaining celebrities perform twice before the identities of all of them are revealed and one is crowned the winner. Personally I think they’re all winners for managing to dance in those extremely uncomfortable looking costumes.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Impossible to Ignore
BBC One 10:20pm
It is somewhat ironic that this is entitled "Impossible to Ignore" and then buried in a late night time slot. However for fans of Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo this is a must see. It tells the story of his life and career, revealing how he became the world's biggest sporting brand

SUNDAY
Dermot Bannon's Super Small Spaces
RTE One 9.30pm
During lockdowns we all became hyper aware of our living space - or lack of it. In this brand new show Ireland's favourite architect travels through the country meeting people who have carried out building projects during the pandemic, examining their designs, renovations and reimaginings

The British Academy Television Awards
BBC One 7pm
The movie BAFTAS were a bit of a let down but hopefully organisers learnt from their mistakes (the dubbed applause when the auditorium was empty was just AWFUL!). Richard Ayoade hosts the annual ceremony celebrating the best TV programmes and talent, with The Crown, I Hate Suzie, Gangs of London and Save Me Too up for Best Drama Series
Time
BBC One 9pm
This three-part prison drama is from the pen of Jimmy McGovern and stars Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. In it a new prisoner has to adapt quickly to his surroundings, while a prison officer faces a threat against his son It looks just as dark and engaging as McGovern’s previous offerings and is sure to get everyone talking.
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY
Yesterday
RTE One 9.30pm
In this whimsical film from Danny Boyle a musician wakes up after being hit by a bus to find he is the only person in the world who remembers the Beatles. It stars Himesh Patel and Lily James but do watch out for an amazing uncredited cameo by Robert Carlyle as an elderly John Lennon. A perfect Bank Holiday movie.
