Once you get past the chair porn (a big feature of this collection so deep breath chair fans) the first thing to note from this look is up top. On the model's head is a slouchy hat emblazoned with rhinestones, Prada experts will note that this is a nod to the recent spring/summer 2012 menswear collection, shown last month in Milan to much fanfare and buzz. More of that later. Elsewhere there is the return of the lipstick motif – first seen on the catwalk in 2000 – which is essentially this collection's bananas There's a particularly gorgeous lipstick print crepe de chine dress with matching cap tooPhotograph: PradaWearing your coat on your shoulders has been gathering momentum as a styling technique of late and looks particularly smashing here. Prada is always on hand to showcase ideas about how best to carry your bag in an au courant fashion, though maybe this clutch display is a little too “yes I've got some new Prada thanks very much” to truly catch onPhotograph: PradaThere is a general sense in this collection of decade blurring. The mid-section has a sort of 1950s aesthetic. Think a sugared almond colour palette and bouclé wool separates. There's a vague posh air-hostess thing going down too, especially with the jazzy neck scarf arrangement. Oh, and more chair pornPhotograph: Prada
Wowsers. Hard to imagine anyone else making this look, let alone making this look work. It's not everybody's cuppa but you really do have to salute the teaming of a heavily embellished jacket complete with a rhinestone country and western flavour worn with a flower power sun dress, plus a neckerchief and a slouchy cap. All sat down in a super fancy office chair. Increds. Note: this floral print is another nod to the menswear spring/summer 12 collectionPhotograph: PradaAmaze. Just Amaze. That is allPhotograph: PradaThere is something brilliantly Allo' Allo! about this look. It is the specs or is it the beret-style styling of the hat that makes is so, non? Then we've got Triple Lip (take that double denim and raise you) in the form of a print bag, belt and blouse. That, my friends, is mega. Note: more gratuitous handbag display – elbow out, hand held firmly under handbag's bum. And yes, those floral trousers are very loud (men will also have the chance to wear something very similar) Photograph: PradaPrada did a big lace collection in February 2008 – it's a look that has been going great guns ever since. For resort, it appears for evening a la this pretty blouse, a skirt or as a beautiful black dress. This look is all about the legs. First that shoe-style, a delicate mule, is so Anna Wintour and second, that is exactly how the Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue positions her legs at the showsPhotograph: PradaPolka dots. Totally back. Totally off-taste. Totally PradaPhotograph: PradaRight, in conclusion of how best to display your bag in manner of Prada resort 12, this look wins. You sit down. You hold bag from handles. You let it hang, but crucially not swing, several inches from floor. You look fabulous. For good measure, you add rhinestonesPhotograph: PradaFor the woman who loves Prada but doesn't do print - if you squint that hat and scarf disappear - a stunningly simple but gorgeous LBD, black tall classic sandals and a metallic bag.
