1. At Dries Van Noten It started with the invite: an 80s-style piece of striped fax paper. On the catwalk this was translated into striped shirts mixed with checks, remade into hybrids of colour from traditional British fabrics such as Harris tweed. Dries also hit on the original idea of having every model carry a handheld speaker, meaning the soundtrack rose and fell as they passed. Simple yet memorable - just how we like it.Photograph: Helen Seamons2. Best presentation award part one goes to Adam Kimmel. We’ve been big fans of Mr Kimmel from the beginning, so imagine our excitement when we saw his Halloween freak show masks, inspired by the artist George Condo. Rumour has it that David Blaine was inside one. Oh, and the casino-themed collection was pretty fab too.Photograph: Charles Duprat3. ‘A celebration of Travel’, said the Louis Vuitton press release - and as the home of luxury luggage it’s no surprise. We want the hand-painted Christian Schoeler bags now. Photograph: PR
4. What do you buy the man who has everything? A Dunhill pocket book, of course! These super-chic accessories caught our eye on the catwalk and in the showroom. Photograph: Helen Seamons5. At YSL there was another high-profile ‘fashion film’, this time by Bruce Webber, and ironically containing remarkably few items of clothing. The kind folks at YSL have posted it on YouTube. Are fashion films the way forward? Discuss.Photograph: PR6. There are menswear designers and then there is Raf Simons. Genius is an overused word in fashion circles, but if anyone is truly deserving of such praise it is Raf. He showed a collection that pushed the boundaries of men's fashion without verging on the ridiculous. This is fashion and style history in the making.Photograph: PR7. Lucas Ossenjdrijver and Alber Elbaz wowed us at Lanvin. In menswear the devil is so often in the detail, and this is how it should be done. This label takes traditional womenswear fabrics and makes them masculine yet beautiful. Oh, and we LOVED the xanadu headbands and oversized utility backpack. Photograph: Helen Seamons8. Best presentation award part two goes to Maison Martin Margiela. You never know exactly what interactive treat they will have planned, but it always makes us smile. This season, models paraded around the audience's tables at a mock restaurant and then pulled up a chair to join us in a glass of the bubbly stuff. Photograph: PR9. At Kenzo the models left the venue and marched around Place des Victoiries followed by a fleet of Citroen DS in an homage to Jacques Tati, the inspiration behind the collection. To conclude the lap of honour they boarded a charabanc and drove off, waving, to the soundtrack of irritated Parisian drivers honking their horns. Truly traffic stopping.Photograph: Helen Seamons10. Finally, now that we've wrapped up two weeks of frankly fantastic men's fashion, we are in the perfect position to give you our top male model tips for 2010. These three (Ben, Anton and Charlie) were in nearly every show. Superstardom surely awaits, but remember: you saw them here first. Photograph: Helen Seamons
