The owners of a takeaway store in Tooleybuc, New South Wales, are isolating after a positive COVID-19 case entered their shop last week.

Murrumbidgee Health says a person who travelled through the district visited Lucky Phil's Budget Rite and Takeaway on Sunday between 9.35am and 10.05am.

People are being urged to get tested if they have been to Tooleybuc recently and have even the slightest symptoms, then isolate until a negative result has been received.

Phil and Colleen Cacciavello are isolating at home while they wait on their test results after being classed as casual contacts.

"We received a phone call about 11.30am this morning from New South Wales Health advising us that a positive case had been in our store," Mr Cacciavello said.

The store was deep-cleaned and allowed to remain open, but Mr Cacciavello said it served as a reminder that the pandemic can affect any town, no matter how small.

"Obviously, people need to wear masks now and we are very strict with that," he said.

"We don't serve anyone that would come into the shop that's not wearing a mask.

"It's a tough call for some people, but you just don't know when someone might be in the store that might be infected, and as a result, this could happen."
