'Too quick to pull the trigger' - Bristol City player ratings after defeat against Sheffield Wednesday

Max O'Leary - 6

Should have done more to stop the first goal and perhaps need not have rushed from his line for the second.

Jack Hunt - 7

His return to his old club did not go as planned but Hunt did do well down the right, although his crossing wasn't effective.

Adam Webster - 8

Carried the ball forward beautifully and showed his versatility by stepping into midfield again.

Tomas Kalas - 6

A tough shift against the athletic Joao and tough Hooper. Great block on Reach's shot right at the end of the game.

Bailey Wright - 6

Good interceptions and some effective man marking at times.

Bristol City unable to lift Lee Johnson's Easter Monday curse in defeat at Sheffield Wednesday

Jay Dasilva - 6

The birthday boy did not have a 21st to remember: unfortunate not to score, hit the woodwork and netted an own-goal.

Marlon Pack - 6

The metronome in the middle battled well and won several clever free-kicks. Needed to press onto Bannan more.

Josh Brownhill - 6

Won a few tackles high up the pitch but lacked the quality to make the telling pass at times. Should have been picked out by Diedhiou in the first half, mind. Bad miss late on with just Dawson to beat.

Niclas Eliasson - 7

Scampered about well and displayed the energy needed at least, if his crossing wasn't as accurate as usual.

Andi Weimann - 5

Not his day as he peppered the Owls goal with shots. Not enough on target and too quick to pull the trigger when others were better placed.

Famara Diedhiou - 6

Ineffective display from the front-man, who was negated aerially by Hector and on the deck by Lees.

Substitutes

Kasey Palmer - 6

Came on after 55 minutes to add creativity for the Robins and largely succeeded, if being a tad sloppy with a no-look pass.

Antoine Semenyo - 6

Hit and miss display although he did the basics well.

Liam Walsh - N/A

Late runout for Pack.
