Tony Stewart appeared to throw punch at a heckling fan after a dirt-track event

Tony Stewart has been retired from NASCAR for three years, but he hasn’t given up on racing entirely … nor has he started shying away from confrontation.

The former NASCAR star made an appearance at a sprint car All-Star event in Jackson, Minnesota where he was advertised as an actual race participant. Stewart evidently participated in the race for one lap on the dirt track before his engine blew out.

After the event, one spectator was particularly upset with Stewart’s brief appearance, and he let Stewart hear about it. That was when Stewart reacted by charging at the heckling fan, and he appeared to throw a punch. (Warning: The video contains NSFW language).

Stewart was eventually restrained as fans could be heard shouting expletives. This fan was far from the first person that Stewart has fought at a race track.

Jackson police told TMZ Sports that officers were not called to the scene, and no formal complaint was filed.
