Tony Romo did not accomplish his latest life goal

We finally found something that Tony Romo is ridiculously good at! Romo failed to qualify for golf’s U.S. Open. He didn’t even get to sectional qualifying. There is some type of balance in the universe. If Romo was out here being a very good quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in his former career, then transitioning to the top color commentator in the NFL and he qualified for the U.S. Open that would just be unfair.

Romo is a very good golfer and the dream probably isn’t dead. He’s still competitive and he has stated he wants to play in a professional golf event — that’s not a pro-am. That means Romo can keep on trying to qualify. He’d have to string together a bunch of really really good rounds to make it to the now third scheduled major of the PGA Tour.

Romo is still better than 99 percent of the population at golf, but it’s comforting to know he’s not awesome at everything. Stars, they’re just like us.
