Tony Mowbray delighted to see Blackburn Rovers' miserable away run end at Nottingham Forest

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray is looking to the future after Rovers ended their away-day misery that saw the club pick up just one point from six matches on the road.

They were 2-1 winners against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, as the Reds suffered a third consecutive defeat.

"We have our own ambitions, which we have fallen away from in the last two months," he said. "

"We have to strengthen and add depth for next season. If a key player gets injured, we want to have cover for him, as we move forward.

"We feel as though we have let ourselves down a bit over the last two months, because we were on the cusp of the play-offs.

Nottingham Forest fans furious as they aim anger at Martin O'Neill after defeat to Blackburn Rovers

"But for the last 11 games, we had won one match. We had a soft underbelly and were letting too many goals go in.

"We needed to acclimatise back in the Championship, with practically the same team that played in League One.

"They are doing great, but if we are going to be at the top end of the Championship next season, we need a few additions to give us depth.

"We have plenty to build on, we will look to strengthen in the summer again now. Let's see how we go."

Rovers moved up one place in the table to 15th on 53 points, just four points behind Forest in 11th.
