Tony Jefferson doubtful to return with knee injury vs. Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens are fighting a close game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They sit tied 20-20 in the middle of the fourth quarter and it appeared the Ravens came up with a huge interception. However, a flag on the play negated the pick and gave the Steelers a first down. But that wasn’t the worst thing that happened on the play.

Safety Tony Jefferson was down on the field, holding his knee. The training staff ran out to help him and eventually carted him to the locker room, ruling him doubtful to return with a knee injury, according to the team’s Twitter account.

The cart and quick decision on the injury are not positive signs for Baltimore or Jefferson. We’ll likely find out following the game the type of injury and severity.

While Jefferson has been called out for some poor play this season, he’s one of the most experienced players in this scheme. With Jefferson out, it’ll be Chuck Clark and DeShon Elliott stepping in.
