Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2: Leak reveals Jack Black as playable villain

A datamined file has seemingly revealed that Jack Black will be a playable character in the forthcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remake.

An image of the School of Rock star dressed as Officer Dick, the franchise’s villain, was posted to Reddit after players picked apart the source code of the recently released demo.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a remake of two bestselling skateboarding games from 1999 and 2000, the first in the Tony Hawk-branded franchise.

In the original games, Officer Dick would attempt to stop the characters from skating, although he could also be unlocked as a bonus playable character.

Neither Black or developers Activision have confirmed the rumours, although a video posted to YouTube earlier in the year hinted at Black’s involvement with the game.

The 12-minute-long clip sees the actor pal around with skateboarding icon Hawk and test out the parts of the new Pro Skater game.

As well as his celebrated acting career, Black has enjoyed a side project as a games-focused YouTuber, releasing videos under the moniker JablinskiGames.

Earlier this year, Black stated that he wanted to be cast as a side character in a hypothetical Red Dead Redemption 3.

“If the creatives over at Rockstar Games are listening right now, I’d like to propose a role that I could play,” he said on his channel.

“There’s an actual historical dude from those times. He was a hobo burglar, named Jack Black. For real. He wrote a book called You Can’t Win, and it’s awesome. I would love to play Jack Black. Think it over.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is set to be released on 4 September 2020.
