Cricket Australia (CA) has named retired Test player Tony Dodemaide as Trevor Hohns's replacement on the men's national selection panel.
Dodemaide joins chair George Bailey and men's head coach Justin Langer as selectors for the men's squad.
Hohns stepped down from the panel earlier this year.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a contribution, not only in the immediate tournaments and series but also to help chart the medium to longer-term course of the Australian men's teams," Dodemaide said in a CA statement.
"I can't wait to offer my experience in cricket as a player and in management to assist George (Bailey) and JL (Langer) but also the wider Australian cricket high-performance network.
"Throughout my cricket journey I have often been close to high-performance and selection, so I feel well suited to and prepared for this role."
Dodemaide played 10 Tests and 24 ODIs for Australia as a bowling all-rounder.
He averaged 22.44 with the bat in Tests and took 34 wickets at 28.02.
Dodemaide is an experienced sporting administrator, having served as chief executive of Cricket Victoria and the Western Australian Cricket Association.
He was also MCC head of cricket at Lord's.
Dodemaide will leave his role as Hockey One general manager to join the selection panel in mid-November ahead of the men's Ashes, which begins the following month.
