Tony Clubb's version of events revealed after Andre Savelio incident

Tony Clubb denied the accusation of racially abusing Hull FC forward Andre Savelio in his tribunal hearing.

The Wigan Warriors forward was been handed a Grade F charge for 'unacceptable language based on national or ethnic origin', which has resulted in an eight-match ban.

However, the judge said they did not consider Clubb to be racist after character references.

Though Clubb admitted to using the words Savelio accused him of using, the structural way in which they were used were disputed by the forward.

Savelio had accused Clubb of calling him a 'stupid Polynesian ----'.

However, the RFL has released the details of the hearing in which Clubb gave his account of how the conversation went.

When asked for his comment, he told the panel that he said: "you silly ----, you're from Warrington. You're not Polynesian you ----."

Kris Radlinski, Wigan's executive director, had told the panel that Clubb completely denied saying what he was accused to have said.

Nevertheless, Clubb was found guilty of the charge and will now serve an eight-match ban and has been fined two weeks wages by the Warriors.

Clubb had claimed that the comment was made after an interaction between two two, in which Savelio had said "bro, I will bang you, you fat ----."

The two teams will meet this weekend in the Challenge Cup quarter-final, though Clubb will not be playing.
