Tony Blair attends same elite banking summit as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given us a taste of their non-royal future by speaking at an elite JP Morgan investment summit in Florida.

But it seems they weren't the only public servants turning up at the highly-paid event.

Attending the same summit was Tony Blair- and he narrowly avoided sharing a stage with the royal couple.

It's understood the former Prime Minister, who was appointed as a £2m-a-year advisor to the banking giant in 2008, took part in a morning event at the swanky 1 Hotel in Miami’s South Beach on Thursday.

Later that evening Prince Harry spoke, and is said to have revealed he has been in therapy for years to help him through the "trauma" of losing his mum Princess Diana.

Speakers at the investment summit are said to be paid up to £775,000.

PR boss Ronn Torossian said: “Given their status, this event is a massive win for JP Morgan. How can any brand go wrong by having them as speakers?”

But a source told the Sun on Sunday:“If Meghan and Harry want to enrich themselves, following Tony Blair’s lead is not a great example - he has received a lot of criticism.”

The Duke of Sussex is said to have opened up about his mother's death in a car crash in 1997 and his and wife Meghan Markle's decision to quit the monarchy, saying he felt "trapped" as a royal but is relationship with the Queen is 'OK'.

In their first public appearance since leaving royal life, former Suits actress Meghan, 38, reportedly described her love for her husband before introducing him to a crowd filled with billionaires, celebrities, power players and ex-politicians.

TV presenter Gayle King, who is Oprah Winfrey's best friend and has grown close to the Sussexes, introduced Meghan to the audience at Thursday's summit in South Beach, which was aimed at building wealth for future generations.

King, 65, attended Meghan's baby shower in New York.
