Tony Bellew compares Dillian Whyte's opponent Oscar Rivas to Mike Tyson

Tony Bellew believes Oscar Rivas is a 'poor man's Mike Tyson' ahead of his clash with Dillian Whyte.

The heavyweights lock horns on Saturday night with the winner earning a shot at world champion Deontay Wilder .

And Bellew has warned Whyte is in for a tough night agains the undefeated Colombian slugger.

"This is now the final step on the ladder with Rivas," he told talkSPORT .

"Rivas is a very dangerous puncher, a short, stout style – very similar to the Mike Tyson we used to watch.

"Not as powerful, not as good, but a poor man’s Mike Tyson can cause people problems so Dillian’s gonna have to be on his game.

"I think he will, and I see a counter left hook ending the fight."

Whyte rejected the chance to face then world champion Anthony Joshua earlier this year and plans to instead take on Wilder next year.

And Bellew hit out at the WBC for not allowing Whyte to challenge for their belt sooner.

"It’s a disgrace how he’s being treated if I’m being perfectly honest and I’m someone who’s been the biggest singer of noise for the WBC organisation – being a former WBC champion," he added.

"But this boy has been unbelievable. [He has spent] six hundred days as WBC No.1 contender, he regrouped fantastically after his loss to Anthony Joshua.

"He made a few changes, he’s come back, he faces anyone and everyone and he goes anywhere to do it, so I’ve gotta take my hat off to him.

"He’s faced people who guys don’t wanna face."
