Tony And Ziva's NCIS Spinoff To Explore Adventures In Europe

Michael Weatherly hints at NCIS spinoff in Europe with Cote de Pablo.

Michael Weatherly has hinted at a potential new location for the upcoming NCIS spinoff featuring Tony and Ziva. The show will see Cote de Pablo returning as the former Mossad operative-turned-NCIS agent alongside Weatherly. The couple, along with their daughter Tali, will embark on adventures in Europe in the new series, tentatively titled NCIS: Europe.

While no official release date has been announced yet, work on the spinoff has already commenced. Weatherly recently shared a photo on his Instagram account, suggesting a possible location for the show in the Alps, with the Matterhorn in the background, hinting at scenes possibly being set in Switzerland.

The NCIS franchise has expanded beyond its original Washington DC setting, with satellite offices in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawaii. The success of NCIS: Sydney paved the way for international storylines, leading to Tony and Ziva's adventures in Europe. The synopsis indicates that the couple will be on the run, with the narrative set in Paris, where they currently reside with Tali.

Living in France provides a plausible reason for their absence from the US-based NCIS headquarters, as they may have started a security agency as a business venture. This setup also explains why the family finds themselves on the run in the upcoming series.

The spinoff will stream on Paramount+, deviating from the traditional procedural format to focus on a single case per season. It remains to be seen whether the show will continue beyond one season or if it will be a limited series.

Meanwhile, NCIS season 21 continues to air on CBS, following the team's investigations into a variety of high-stakes cases. The current lineup includes Special Agent Alden Parker, NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, NCIS Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres, NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, Jimmy Palmer, and forensic scientist Kasie Hines, under the leadership of NCIS Director Leon Vance.
