Arsenal have announced the departure of head of football Raul Sanllehi.
In a statement on Saturday, the Gunners confirmed that the Spaniard would be replaced by current managing director Vinai Venkatesham.
Speaking to the club website, Sanllehi said: "I’m proud and pleased with the contribution I’ve made at Arsenal over the past three years, and look forward to enjoying the club’s future success. Arsenal is a true footballing institution.
"I am proud to have been part of its history and I thank Stan and Josh Kroenke for this opportunity.
"Working with Vinai, we have built a top team for the future. Mikel has made an extremely positive impact since his arrival and has formed a strong team with our technical director, Edu.
"The academy is in very safe hands with Per, and Huss Fahmy is a talented and highly-capable leader of our football operations.
"Personally, I now look forward to taking some time off and spending time with family and friends before setting to work on a new challenge and cheering Arsenal on to great things.”
Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams previously slammed Sanllehi and director Edu for their changes to the Gunners' scouting network after several members of the recruitment team were let go.
“My fundamental issue is with recruitment,” the former Gunners captain told talkSPORT last month.
“I think the club is going through such a recruitment issue at the moment.
“Relying on agents is not the way to go. It’s not Arsenal DNA I’m afraid. I don’t like it. I’ve got to say it publicly.
“We’ve got Edu and Raul Sanllehi who are running the show and, you know as well as I do Ray, Steve Rowley took 40 years to build that scouting system and 13 scouts have been sacked.
“They’ve put a bomb on it. Steve’s network, it did absolutely brilliantly, it got the best players from around the world into the club and into our own academy, and it’s just been blown up.
“Edu, I love him. He’s a beautiful man, a lovely man and it’s not personal, but he has no experience of building European squads.
“Even Raul Sanllehi, he came from Barcelona where all the money in the world, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to get money here!
“Those people are kind of out of their depth, I’m sorry.
“They need to build a fantastic squad that challenges for the league, and it hurts.”
