Tony Adams reveals the issues Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka have despite Arsenal win

Tony Adams believes both Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka have physical "issues" despite both scoring in Arsenal's win over Tottenham on Sunday.

The Gunners secured another three points as Mikel Arteta 's team continue their fine recent form that has seen them climb into the top half of the Premier League table.

Smith Rowe and Saka were both pivotal in the victory, with the Hale End academy graduates both finding the back of the net in the first-half as Arsenal took the game away from Spurs.

However, former Gunners captain Adams thinks the Arsenal pair have some "issues" with their physical condition that could have a negative impact later on in the season.

"Him [Smith Rowe] and Saka, for me think the issues are physically to be honest," Adams told Sky Sports.

"Saka had a great Euros, these kids in effect carried the club and I just think they might run out of steam and going down the road, you can’t depend on two 19 and a 20-year-old to get you out of trouble every week.

"You’re going to come up against better teams than Tottenham Hotspur, they were terrible first half, absolutely terrible."

Speaking after the win against Spurs, Arteta spoke about the challenge he set to Smith Rowe at the start of the season to score more goals.

The Arsenal star has now scored twice in two games, after finding the net in the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon last week.

"He has scored two in the last two games. It’s great. I think today was a great example of the senior players showing big leadership standing up for the team," the Gunners boss said.

"The likes of Auba scoring a goal. And then two academy players who have been raised and developed within our system coming in a big derby and doing what they’ve done - scoring two goals."
