Tony Adams highlights two bigger Arsenal issues than Unai Emery

Unai Emery is under more pressure at Arsenal following a crucial loss at Leicester City this afternoon and it's led to reaction aplenty.

Fans were even predicting the departure of Emery before the game against Leicester due to his team selections for the match.

Whilst that was harsh, it's safe to say Arsenal's second-half performance left a lot to be desired.

It was a big statement made by Leicester City as they moved up to second in the Premier League but for Arsenal it was a huge blow for the club's hopes of making the top four.

The Gunners are now eight points behind the Champions League spots and nine adrift of the likes of Leicester and Chelsea.

Tony Adams was in the Sky Sports' studio for the encounter and he was asked about Emery's standing at the club and whether he thinks that another manager could do a better job at the Emirates.

"It's easy to blame the manager in this situation. I don't think he has done himself any favours," Adams told Sky Sports.

"Defensively we have done (got worse since Arsene Wenger). It's easy to blame Emery but he is doing the best with the players he's got. It's a bigger problem than this coach."

Asked if another manager could do a better job, Adams responded: "I don't think so. You might get another lift. He needs time."

Adams went onto explain Arsenal's biggest issues which include poor defence and what he feels is a wayward transfer policy.

"One thing they aren't doing is keeping clean sheets. If you are always going to concede goals, the whole of the team are going to feel vulnerable," Adams added.

"I don't think the personal touch is done at Arsenal as well.  It's so important that the manager talks to players. We always chose the player and the character ahead of the technical stuff."
