Tony Adams advises Mikel Arteta on how he can win the Premier League with Arsenal

Tony Adams reckons Mikel Arteta can win the Premier League with Arsenal if he signs a new goalkeeper and a number 10.

Arsenal are continuing to improve under Arteta and put down a huge marker by beating Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out.

Former Gunners captain Adams is confident the north London club will finish above the Red Devils this season, and has labelled them a "top six team".

And what's more, Adams doesn't think Arsenal are far off competing with Liverpool and Manchester City either - but they need to make a couple of key signings first.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Adams said: "They'll finish above United. I think they're a top six team. There are some great positive signs, but they are missing a goalkeeper and a number 10, someone up-front, to be champions.

"We have a couple of leaders in central defence and midfield. We're getting closer."

Arsenal were closely linked with Houssem Aouar and Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window.

Both players can operate in a number 10 role, and would have helped take the Gunners to the next level, according to Adams' logic.

Arsenal did however sell goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in favour of retaining Bernd Leno as number one.

The shot-stopper is considered one of the north London club's better players on his day, but it seems Adams isn't convinced by the German.
