Toni Kroos gives verdict on Premier League transfer when Real Madrid deal expires

Toni Kroos has discussed the possibility of moving to the Premier League when his deal with Real Madrid expires.

The German is considered one of the best central midfielders of his generation and has enjoyed a glittering six-year spell in the Spanish capital.

Kroos has won three Champions Leagues and one La Liga title with Los Blancos and has three more years on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu after signing a new deal last year.

The 30-year-old was once a target for Manchester United and also has history with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thanks to their season together at Bayern Munich.

But Kroos cannot see himself moving to the Premier League as he enters the final years of his career.

"I definitely plan to be with Real for these three years," Kroos told Eurosport. "Then it is a good time at 33 to question yourself: what does it look like physically, what does motivation look like - do I still feel like [I want] to keep going?

"If something comes together and you say: 'Okay, one more year here, because you are just good enough and you still feel like it', I would not rule that out.

"But then a move to England, which is also played very physically, I can't imagine that at 33."

Kroos has made 33 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring five goals and assisting on nine occasions.

The World Cup winner also discussed a reunion with former boss Guardiola after spending the 2013/14 season together at Bayern Munich.

During that campaign, Bayern won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, but Kroos cannot see himself playing under the Spaniard again.

Asked about the idea of linking up with Guardiola again, Kroos responded: "I cannot imagine that is an option for me."

Kroos' Real Madrid currently trail league-leaders Barcelona by two points in La Liga.
