Real Madrid and Germany midfield ace Toni Kroos has been critical of Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's goal celebrations, describing them as "nonsense."
Kroos, who has established himself as one of the very best central-midfielders of his generation in recent years, has admitted that he is not a fan of excessive goal celebrations.
The German is not prolific himself, having only scored 19 goals in almost 300 appearances for Madrid.
Aubameyang, on the other hand, has made a career for himself by putting the ball in the back of the net, with the former Borussia Dortmund ace having scored 74 times for the Gunners in just 119 games.
When having not delivered his trademark acrobatic celebration, Aubameyang has celebrated by wearing a mask from the film 'Black Panther.'
But Kroos is less than impressed with the celebration, insisting it was "nonsense."
"I find it very silly," Kroos told his Einfach mal Luppen podcast, as quoted by the Evening Standard. "Even worse is if there are any objects hidden in their socks.
"Aubameyang once celebrated and took out a mask. That's where it ends with me.
"I don't think that's a good role model, either. What nonsense."
After delivering the 'Black Panther' celebration against Rennes at the Emirates Stadium back in 2019, in a 3-0 win, Aubameyang explained his reasoning behind it.
"I needed a mask which represents me," he told Arsenal's club website. "It’s the Black Panther and in Africa, in Gabon, we call the national team the Black Panthers of Gabon.
"It represents me so that’s it."
