Tommy Togiai falls short of bench press record at Ohio State’s pro day, still raises money for charity

All in all, 14 different Buckeyes participated in the pro day at Ohio State Tuesday. It was an all-around display of incredible athletism. From Justin Fields 40 time and unbelievable display throwing the ball to Barron Browing leaping out of the Woody… it was something to behold.

But maybe the most impressive feat of the day was Tommy Togiai on the bench press. We told you earlier that the OSU defensive lineman was hoping to break a record by hitting 50 reps of 225 pounds while raising money for chairty at the same time.

Unfortunately, Togiai fell short in his efforts to break the record, but what he did was still astounding. Big Tom pushed out 40 reps with 225 on the bench press. Maybe even more amazing was Togia hitting 38 reps before taking a pause to rest. That’s just raw strength and stamina.

While Togiai didn’t break the record, what he did was still the stuff of legends. And by the way… he raised over $3,000 for his charity, LiFEsports at The Ohio State University.

Well done on all accounts Big Tom!
