Tommy Tiernan brilliantly trolled by podcast pals for RTE show catchphrase

RTE star Tommy Tiernan show was mocked by his podcast co-hosts for his "catchphrase" on the popular chat show.

The Saturday night chat show came to an end at the weekend but Tommy's successful podcast with co-hosts Hector Ó hEochagáin and Laurita Blewitt has skyrocketed in popularity the last few months.

And their latest episode was another doozy - although Hector and Laurita were not going to let Tommy away with something they had both picked up on beforehand.

With the show currently ranked at #2 in the Spotify Podcast charts and #3 on iTunes, the trio thanked their fans in a clip posted to the show's social media accounts

What the plan seemed to be was Hector up first to speak before throwing to Tommy.

But, as is so often the case on their show, things did not go perfectly to plan.

Tommy was made to say "it's been a pleasure chatting to you", a phrase he says to pretty much every guest on his show.

And now that we've noticed that he says it, we'll never be able to un-notice it.

The latest season of the talk show which sees Tommy chat to a wide variety of guests without any prior knowledge of who he is speaking to, saw the Navan comedian host an excellent variety of guests from rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll, famed football pundit Eamon Dunphy and Oscar winning director Neil Jordan.

But fans were left dismayed after the last episode aired last week.

However viewers will get a chance to catch Tommy Tiernan on screens once again this week as he appears on RTE this Saturday.

Airing at the same time his show previously aired at on RTE One, Dark Lies the Island sees Tommy return to the screen in a small roll in the comedy drama.

The film follows the characters involved in a long-standing family feud over the course of a week and stars the likes of Peter Coonan, Charlie Murphy, Patt Short Moe Dunford.
