Tommy Smith funeral details

Liverpool will say a final farewell to LFC legend Tommy Smith on Thursday, April 25.

The European Cup winner passed away on Friday aged 74 following a courageous and dignified battle with dementia.

'The Anfield Iron' was a Liverpool player for 18 years and then  a respected ECHO columnist  for 35 years. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Anfield history.

The funeral will take place next Thursday, April 25, at 11am at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Warren Road, Blundellsands, Crosby, L23 6UE. To be followed by cremation in a private family service at Thornton Crematorium. No flowers please.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Society are being accepted by Funeral Directors McCallum and Tritton and Sons, 46, Mersey View, Crosby, L22 QEB.

Smith won a number of major trophies during a glittering career at Liverpool, lifting the league title four times, a European Cup, two UEFA Cups and two FA Cups.
