Tommy Shelby wears Glasgow eyewear brand Iolla in new series of Peaky Blinders

He almost persuaded an entire generation of men to rethink the flatcap and waistcoat, but Tommy Shelby looked to Glasgow for inspiration in the latest season of Peaky Blinders.

TV star Cillian Murphy will be rocking Glasgow label Iolla in the fifth series thanks to an epic collaboration between the brand and BBC drama.

The eyewear line, with stores in Finnieston and the city centre, were asked by the show's costume designer to create a pair of frames for the Brummie bad boy last summer.

They said: "We were approached by Alison McCosh, Costume Designer for Peaky Blinders.  Little did we know a year on we would be seeing IOLLA frames on the one and only Tommy Shelby for Peaky Blinders Series 5.

"We are extremely proud of the journey we went on to produce this popular character’s glasses for the show's fifth series and be part of this amazing project."

They added: "We’ve been waiting a year to see the glasses on the screen and be part of the story, and we are incredibly excited to now be able to watch alongside you!"

Although Tommy's specs are not for sale, Peaky fans can visit the showrooms to take a closer look at some early prototypes.

By order of the Peaky Blinders, this look gets our seal of approval.
