Tommy McCarthy is the new WBC International Cruiserweight champion following a brilliant win in Italy on Friday night.
McCarthy earned a split decision victory over the previously unbeaten Fabio Turchi in Trento.
Turchi was being billed as the big new Italian hope after Andrea Scarpa, Devis Boschiero and Emanuele Blandamura all lost in big fights.
But Lenadoon boxer McCarthy had other ideas, putting in a superb performance to claim the title on foreign soil.
It is McCarthy's biggest win of his career so far, taking away the belt from the home favourite.
McCarthy would claim the win with cards of 116-112 and 115-113 in his favour against a 116-112 for Turchi.
