Tommy Fury's prospective bout with American YouTuber Jake Paul could take place in the early months of 2022 says promoter Frank Warren.
Fury will pose a 'different proposition' compared to Paul's last opponent Tyron Woodley according to Warren, amid ongoing negotiations as too when the fight will now take place.
24-year-old Paul successfully extended his record to five wins in Florida on Saturday and emphasised Fury was 'lucky' to not be in there following his sixth round knockout of Woodley.
"We will be looking to reschedule in early 2022," Warren told Sky Sports. "Jake said that Tommy Fury was 'lucky' he wasn't in there but really Tommy was extremely unlucky to miss out with his injury.
"A fit Tommy Fury is a very different proposition to Tyron Woodley."
With Fury keen to end the ongoing feud, Paul believes former UFC star Woodley was a tougher challenge due to his extended fighting know-how.
Speaking in his post-fight interview, he began: "Tommy Fury is lucky that he wasn't in there tonight, because Tyron is way tougher. He has that experience.
"Tommy probably would have looked a lot worse than that [Woodley knockout] - and that was pretty bad."
Woodley spoke of his disappointment over the defeat, saying: "I had both hands up, I knew it was coming. In this sport, it can only take one mistake. Literally one mistake."
