Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul fight date confirmed after £1m offer claims

A deal that would see Jake Paul and Tommy Fury go head-to-head is "close", according to boxing promoter Frank Warren.

The two reality personalties have been aiming barbs at one another for a while, prompting an increase in speculation over a possible showdown.

Paul recently beat MMA fighter Tyron Woodley in a split decision bout, giving him an early professional boxing record of four wins from as many fights.

Following his most recent win, Paul made it clear he would be keen to throw down with Fury and it would appear a date is close to being finalised.

"At the moment we're working through the terms, we're quite close and I'm hoping we can get it over the line," said Warren. "It's a great fight for Tommy. It's a very lucrative fight for him. Financially how can you not turn that down?

"I think he wins it. It's captured everyone's imagination, it's all they were talking about out in the States. Hopefully, we will finish it off this week and we can move forward. It'll be in late November, December."

Fury, whose brother is the world heavyweight champion Tyson, has fought seven times and won on every occasion, with his most recent win against Anthony Taylor via unanimous decision.

The British fighter actually made his debut in the United States on the undercard of Paul's meeting with Woodley.

Fury's father John confirmed an offer has previously been made by Paul's camp worth £1million, although that proposal was deemed not lucrative enough for the 22-year-old, who said it was "not worth getting out of bed for."

Paul has previously spoken of wanting to beat a "real boxer" in the ring, with his previous two victories coming against MMA stars in Woodley and Ben Askren.

Like Paul, Fury is well known for his work outside the ring too, having finished as runner-up on Love Island in 2019.
