Tommy Fury tried to woo reality star Lauren Goodger before jetting off to Love Island.
The 20-year-old boxer sent her a string of messages on Instagram begging for a date. His pursuit began last December and continued until April.
Tommy, brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury , was still with ex Millie Roberts – who he dumped just before going on the ITV2 reality show.
Millie has revealed that Tommy going on Love Island went against “everything he claimed to stand for”.
She says: “He wouldn’t even like me watching the programme and would say the girls were disgusting because of their lip fillers and Botox. He hates all that.”
A source close to Lauren, who once dated fellow TOWIE star Mark Wright, reveals: “Tommy was sending her flirty messages asking to meet up. They spent a lot of time talking on FaceTime, and she started to fancy him.
“She asked if he had a girlfriend. He said he couldn’t be more single. He’d say he couldn’t wait to meet up for a drink, but it never happened.
“He was really complimentary to her and was always saying how sexy she was. Lauren went off him romantically and they never got round to organising a date.”
Single Lauren, 32 – who will be appearing on the new series of E4’s Celebs Go dating – is said to have only discovered Tommy had a girlfriend at the time when she saw him on Love Island.
The source adds: “She is hoping the claims his ex has made aren’t true. She wishes him all the best.”
Tommy is coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague, 20, on the show, with their relationship hotting up over recent days.
Last month it was revealed he dated Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey after messaging her on Instagram. He persuaded her to go on a date after she caught his eye on a night out in Manchester last month.
Chelsee, 30, messaged him back and they went out but nothing came of it.
