Tommy Fury secures first round knockout win over Przemyslaw Binienda on his boxing return

Tommy Fury secured a swift knockout win on his return to the boxing ring at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday.

The Love Island star extends his professional record to 3-0 after easing past Przemyslaw Binienda on the undercard of Daniel Dubois vs Kyotaro Fujimoto in the capital.

Fury, younger brother of former world champion Tyson, was fighting for the first time in almost a year and made quick work of Binienda.

The light heavyweight secured a knockdown just 15 seconds into the round. Binienda failed to throw a single meaningful punch, with Fury picking his shots with ease before the the referee stepped in to end the contest mid-way through the round.

The Pole’s record leaves much to be desired – winning just two of his 28 professional bouts, none in his last 25.

While his name might be recognised for reasons outside of boxing, Fury recently told Standard Sport his sole goal remains to be making a name for himself in the sport and becoming a world champion.

“I’m not just going into this for the promotional side, trying to earn a few quid. I’m a fighting man, this is what I do and what I’ve done long before Love Island. That’s where I’ve paid my dues and I just want to take a few fans over and I hope everyone enjoys the ride.”
