Tommy Fleetwood Masters 2019 odds latest with Merseyside man best backed Englishman at Augusta National

Southport’s own Tommy Fleetwood is the best backed Englishman to win the 2019 Masters, with the 30/1 shot racking up a sizeable following ahead of this week’s tournament.

Fleetwood has gone close on US soil previously, finishing T-2 in the US Open last year. His best performance at the Masters was also in 2018, finishing T-17 after having missed the cut on debut.

With his antics at the Ryder Cup still fresh in the memory (especially the ‘Molliwood’ pairing with Francesco Molinari), Fleetwood will be a popular winner on these shores.

In all, 5% of bets over the last seven days have gone on Fleetwood to win this week, ahead of the likes of Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Paul Casey.

Why Tommy Fleetwood can win the 2019 Masters at the Augusta National

At 12/1, Dustin Johnson is the most-backed selection with 10.2% of bets. Rory McIlroy is close behind with 8.5% of bets and is the current market favourite at 8/1.

On the flipside, 2016 champion Danny Willett is friendless in the market, with less than 0.1% of bets on the 31-year-old.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: "Fleetwood's rise to the cream of world golf has been rapid, but he is no flash in the pan and a first career major, having come so close in last year's US Open, must surely be around the corner.

"A T17th last year at Augusta in his second start there represents good progress towards a Masters challenge."
