Tommie Hoban in Aberdeen transfer tease as former loan star looks to get career back on track

Former Aberdeen loanee Tommie Hoban has delivered a social media tease that may suggest he's set for a return to the North-east.

The midfielder joined on loan from Watford for the 2018/19 season and had a good start, performing well in the Europa League against Burnley and scoring on his debut against Hibs.

But he broke down with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the second such problem of the 26-year-old's career, and returned to his parent club.

He didn't play a game last year as he focused on his recovery but now the Londoner has revealed on Instagram he's finally ready to return to the grass.

He said: "Recovering without a club has been so much harder than I thought it would be but so grateful to finally be feeling strong again.

"Hoping to be ready to start training somewhere in the next couple of weeks!

"What a year...hungrier than ever to get back out there."

Derek McInnes is known to be an admirer of the player, who would be available on a free transfer outside of the transfer window.
