Tomljanovic moves into Open second round

Ajla Tomljanovic has got her 2021 grand slam season underway in the best possible fashion with a straight sets win over Japan's Misaki Doi on day one of the Australian Open.

World No.72 Tomljanovic, Australia's second-highest ranked female player behind world No.1 Ash Barty, crushed Doi 6-2 6-1 in 75 minutes on John Cain Arena.

The 27-year-old has previously struggled to make a dent at the Australian Open, never moving past the second round.
