Tomas Soucek's boyhood club 'bank £1.5m from West Ham transfer' which will cover budget for a decade

Czech fourth tier side FC Slovan Havlíčkův Brod are reportedly set to bank a massive £1.5million following Tomas Soucek's permanent move to West Ham.

Soucek officially signed a four-year deal with The Hammeers on Friday after helping the club to Premier League safety during a successful loan stint in east London.

The 25-year-old played for his home town side in Havlíčkův Brod as a boy before signing his first professional contract with Slavia Prague in 2014.

According to Czech website VIP Sport, FC Slovan Havlíčkův Brod are now owed 10 per cent of the £15million fee West Ham paid to make Soucek's move to the London Stadium permanent.

Slovan chairman Pavel Mazánek has claimed the 43million Czech koruna (£1.5m) cash injection will cover the club's running costs for the next decade.

"The club's annual budget is four and a half million," Mazánek told Blesk.

After completing the signing of Soucek on Friday, West Ham boss David Moyes said: "The best thing about him is he is a terrific lad. He has scored some really important goals for us, he could have got a couple more as well.

"When I came in we were talking about needing someone to help Declan and Mark Noble and I have to say Tomas has been a really good fit for them."
