With WrestleMania 36 in the books and the pro wrestling year effectively starting anew, comedian Tom Segura vs. the collective body of wrestling fans has become one of the best new feuds of 2020.
Segura raised a furor among wrestling fans when he went on an extended, profane rant about how dumb he believes people who watch wresting are during an episode of his podcast, Your Mom’s House. The clip went viral, and multiple professional wrestlers were incensed enough to challenge Segura to get into the ring.
Segura responded by creating a wrestling persona for himself, “Mystic Rick,” and cutting a hilarious promo, which includes shoutouts from wrestling legends Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Kurt Angle (presumably via Cameo). Segura’s wife, Christina P., served as his manager, “Classy Christina.”
