Tom Parker’s wife Kelsey Hardwick ‘calls upon angels’ after star leaves The Wanted tour

Tom Parker’s wife has “called upon angels” to help him after he pulled out of The Wanted’s tour over his battle with brain cancer.

Kelsey Hardwick said she was “asking the universe to answer our prayers” to help her husband during his fight with the disease.

The 33-year-old singer on Thursday announced he would no longer be able to join the band on tour as he finishes cancer treatment at a private hospital in Spain.

Sharing a photo of herself alongside her husband on Instagram, she wrote: “Where your intentions go, energy flows! Thank you so much for all the love, support and positive manifestations you have put in to the Universe for Tom.

“Tom has made a massive amount of progress physically but also mentally, he has reignited a spark in himself through seeing all the incredible love & support you have shown us.”

She added: “I would love for everyone to light a candle and say this mantra out loud. We are asking the universe to answer our prayers… when there is belief, love & hope - anything is possible.

“I call on angels, guides and ancestors to help support Tom in his healing journey and please continue to awaken Tom’s heart and mind to give him the power, strength and healing that he needs on this journey to complete health.”

The actress said her husband was a “beacon of light” and a “true hero”. She added: “Keep going. The world needs you.”

Last week, the musician said he hoped to be well enough to join the band on tour but he explained he would be missing the first few shows as he completes his treatment cycle.

However, he told fans he had been “zooming into rehearsals” and the “boys will hold the fort back” before his return.

Parker revealed in October 2020 he had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and was given a life expectancy of 12 to 18 months.

Since then the star has completed six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions before beginning treatment in Spain.

The Wanted – consisting of Parker, Sykes, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness – was originally formed in 2009.

They produced three top 10 studio albums before they announced in 2014 they were going to pursue solo projects.

The band reformed last year and referenced Parker’s health situation as one of their motivations to regroup.
