Tom Parker's widow Kelsey shares how kids are coping almost a year on from star's death

Tom Parker 's widow Kelsey has admitted she's taking things one day at a time ahead of the first anniversary of her late husband's death.

The mum-of-two, 32, says "grief is so much bigger than I ever expected" and explains how she can feel a variety of emotions in the space of minutes following The Wanted singer's tragic passing.

Kelsey also shares how her two young children are coping without their beloved father, and reveals how the whole family watches Tom bandmate Siva Kaneswaran compete on Dancing On Ice each week.

Tom passed away aged 33 on March 30 last year, following an 18-month battle with brain cancer – and bravely raised money and awareness of the condition prior to his death.

The late singer and Kelsey tied the knot in 2018 and went on to welcome two children – Aurelia and Bodhi – into the world together prior to the star's death.

Speaking in an interview with new! magazine, Kelsey reveals she doesn't have any idea how she will mark one year since Tom passed away next month, but is "sure I'll do something".

When asked how the kids are coping, the grieving star says: "They're alright - they're ok. It's hard."

Kelsey then goes to tell new! magazine how she's planning to take her eldest Aurelia to watch Tom's bandmate Siva perform on the ice as he wows during this year's series of Dancing On Ice.

"I saw him in the first week when he was on TV and the kids watched it, and I said, 'There's uncle Siv on the TV'," she sweetly reveals.

"I would take Aurelia because she's that little bit older and she's enjoy it."

Kelsey continues to offer advice to anyone else in a similar position to her or living with a loved one who is sick.

The mum-of-two muses how grief cannot fit neatly into a box and "you just have to ride it out".

Kelsey confirmed Tom's sad passing last year, writing on Instagram : "Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."

Tom received the devastating diagnosis he had an inoperable brain tumour while wife Kelsey was pregnant with their second child.

Prior to his death, Kelsey revealed how she’d begged doctors not to tell Tom how long he has to live over fears he would count down the days.

She explained how she didn't want to know how long doctors predicted he would survive, saying: "We didn't ask for one [a prognosis].

"I said that for Tom's state of mind, and who he is as a person, that would not be good for him. He would literally sit here and count down the days and not live his life."

It was reported in November last that Kelsey had started dating electrician Sean Boggans, 39, eight months after Tom's tragic passing.
