Tom Parker's widow Kelsey makes heartbreaking admission as she faces first Christmas without him

Kelsey Parker has opened up about the "tough time" she and her young kids have been having adjusting to life without her husband Tom Parker as the festive season approaches.

The Wanted singer died in March aged just 33, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Kelsey spoke to hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard about the guilt and loneliness that she continues to struggle with in the aftermath of her husband's death.

Mum-of-two Kelsey admitted that she had been having a "really hard few weeks" in the run-up to Christmas, which will be the first for her and her children without Tom. "Christmas is going to be so tough for me this year," she told Kate and Ben.

"Last year, [Kelsey and Tom's daughter] Aurelia did understand the Christmas process and this year, she's a year older and it's me that's like - Tom's not going to be here this year," she said. "We're not going to wake up Christmas morning together as a family. It's going to be me and the kids."

Kelsey added: "I feel guilty that I'm still here. I look at my kids every morning, and I'm guilty that he's not experiencing what I'm experiencing with them."

32-year-old Kelsey also made a devastating admission that she is still unable to listen to her late husband singing, eight months after his death. "I've definitely avoided The Wanted's music," she revealed. "I just can't listen to Tom's voice - it actually breaks my heart.

"Music was so relevant in our relationship," she explained. "We'd been together 13 years, music was our life, and for me it's just really hard for me to listen to his voice."

Asked by Ben whether she thought she would be able to listen to Tom's music in the future, Kelsey replied: "I'm hoping to, but the kids want to listen. [They ask] 'Can we listen to daddy's songs?' And I'm like, 'Go to nanny's house to listen'."

GMB viewers were moved by Kelsey's heartbreaking confession, with one person writing on Twitter: "God love Kelsey Parker... beautiful brave woman. Tom would be so proud of her."

Another added: "What an emotional interview and she handled it so well. My thoughts are with you Kelsey."

Kelsey is set to star in a new six-part series Life After Tom, which follows her and her two young children as they try to re-build their lives after losing a husband and father. The first episode will air on ITVBe tonight, Thursday 1 December, at 9pm.
