Tom Parker receiving encouragement from cancer survivor amid brain tumour battle

The Wanted star Tom Parker has revealed that he is receiving constant encouragement from a cancer survivor who previously had the same diagnosis.

The 32-year-old singer, who was told he had stage four Glioblastoma in 2020, is said to be in regular contact with Dave Bolton and is inspired by the cancer survivor's incredible story.

It comes as Tom continues to surprise doctors with his progress after his tumour significantly decreased in size.

Speaking about his latest treatment, Tom admitted that he was feeling low on energy but was quickly perked up after receiving a message from Dave, 40.

"On the way up to London to get my obs done..." Tom wrote on social media.

He added: "I had nothing to give this morning. The chemo fatigue was very real. He swoops on out of nowhere and gives me the encouragement. Thanks Buddy, Dave Bolton."

Dave has become a keynote speaker after he was able to survive cancer twice. His diagnosis was previously classed as terminal when doctors determined that he had Glioblastoma Multiform IV, however, he underwent gruelling therapy and eventually got the all-clear.

Just days ago, Dave shared a picture taken seven years earlier from a hospital bed while he battled a brain tumour.

In his inspiring post, Dave wrote: "Sometimes we have to be broken down to become hole again. We must lose in order to gain and we must spend time in the darkness to appreciate the light.

"We all have the ability to overcome the most challenging of circumstances, setbacks and overcoming all the odds when stacked against you. But it’s up to you to make that conscious decision not to quit or stop when that is often the easiest option. Pain, suffering and adversity are temporary giving up or quitting lasts for eternity!

Despite Tom's heartbreaking diagnosis, he has also not let his bleak health news get him down and is instead keeping an optimistic view of the future.

As well as getting plenty of tips from Dave, Tom has even joined forces with Ollie Marland to create some new music and sharing lots of positive updates with his fans.

Tom and his wife Kelsey are also discussing the idea of having more children in the future, amid hopes of eventually expanding their brood to four kids.

Alongside all of his busy plans, the star has already seen his tumour “significantly reduced” thanks to the treatment he has already had. He is now on to his latest round of treatment to keep the cancer at bay.
