Tom Lineham has got tongues wagging after revealing that he has had contact from his 'dream' club about a move next season - hinting at a move to his hometown club Leeds Rhinos.
Lineham, who all but confirmed he would be leaving Warrington at the end of the season, admitting his phone had been busy after Rugby League Live revealed he had been offered to clubs.
While discussing his future, Lineham confessed to having interest from one club in particular that would be his dream move, with fans coming to the conclusion that he was talking about the Rhinos.
Lineham, 28, was born in the city but never came through the system, instead starting his career at York City Knights before heading to Hull FC.
When asked about his future, he said: “I didn’t really have anything [for next year] but since that article the phone has been ringing.
“There was one club that was exciting for me and really tickled my fancy – it’s probably my first choice and a bit of a dream.
“But I don’t want to say too much just in case it all falls through and I’m left with massive egg on my face.
“I’ll keep my cards close to my chest but if one of them comes off then I’ll be very happy.”
Fans couldn't help but speculate that the identity of the mystery club in question was the Rhinos, given his local connections.
Luke Briscoe is off-contract at the end of the season, which could open the door for a replacement next year.
Lineham is known to be close friends with current Leeds Rhinos hooker Brad Dwyer, with the pair previously playing together at Warrington.
