Tom Izzo on college students handling of COVID-19: ‘I’ve been very disappointed’

Michigan State University has been doing everything possible to keep students safe amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, ultimately preserving any chance of having sports this fall, but not every college student on campus has been handling it responsibly.

Recently, MSU health officials had to step in and start enforcing quarantines for buildings around East Lansing after 342 new COVID-19 cases were discovered in a short span of 3 weeks.

Michigan State Men’s Basketball head coach Tom Izzo has not liked what he has seen in regards to how the students have handled this pandemic:

“I’m going to be honest, students in general, I’ve been very disappointed by what I see on TV at all of our colleges,” Izzo said. “Kids not respecting anything, including themselves. I’ll probably get punished for saying that, but the parties you see on TV, the things you see going on, it kind of proves the point of why other countries have kind of got through it faster.”
