Tom Holland 'might go and be a carpenter for two years' after Spider-Man No Way Home

Spider-Man star Tom Holland may have spun his last web – and could go back to being a carpenter.

The actor, who trained as a chippie, says ditching his megastar role would allow him to be a tradesman. Tom stars in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is out next month, but is unsure if he will don the hero’s Lycra suit again.

He says: “It’s something I’m thinking about a lot and it’s something that’s on my mind all the time.

“It’s huge. It’s absolutely huge. Every time you walk outside that door, you’re representing Spider-Man. I started acting when I was 11 and now I’m 25.

“I think there are endless opportunities for me to do what I want, and doing what I want may not be in the film industry. It might be completely separate. I might go and be a carpenter for two years, and take a big break and come back.

“I might not come back. I might go away and get married and have kids and just disappear for the rest of my life.”

Tom’s comments come in the December issue of Total Film magazine.

He has played the Marvel comic book character in a string of blockbusters – including Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.

But he first donned the famous Spidey suit for Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and has since appeared in other Marvel franchises, such as The Avengers and Venom.

Tom went to carpentry school in Cardiff before he hit the big time.
