The Boston Celtics broadcast on NBC Sports Boston has been missing something. A voice that’s been calling games longer than the stations he calls it on has existed.

The Hall of Famer and Celtics great has been absent from the call since November. Though he made a recent in-studio appearance, Heinsohn’s rightful spot is alongside his partner and play-by-play announcer Mike Gorman, who was excited to announce Heinsohn’s return on NBC Sports Boston’s “Celtics Post Game” following the 129-128 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
“Tommy’s coming back,” Gorman said with a big smile.
According to Gorman, Heinsohn makes his return on Saturday night when the Boston Celtics host the other team based in Los Angeles, the Clippers, at 8 p.m at the TD Garden.
